I have looked and looked but cannot find where the handheld keypad plugs in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have three of those remote keypads and none of them work. I plug them in, the thing boots up, I hold down a key but it just gives me an error message. I've tried it on several machines but can't get then to function anywhere. Do I also have to say the magic words and if so what are they please. And thanks.

Bill,
When you plug in the THU and they boot up you have to wait until the Main Screen appears before pressing any buttons. Pressing buttons before the main screen you will get a diagnostic screen (error screen).

Thanks Jim. I owe you one.
Now how do you get those dam Respot Arm Springs off without breaking all but two of the Ten Commandments and cursing the day you were born?

And use a spring puller (T shaped handle hooked at the end) to pull on the bracket where the springs attach at the front while you remove the bolt. There's a convenient hole there to put the spring puller through.

Then, after the bolt is removed, let it go and the springs can be taken off. Easier to do with 2 people.

To reattach the springs, just reverse the procedure.

You can't remove the bolt without taking off the Respot arm. (there's not enough room between the machine frame and the arm)You can't take off the arm without removing the springs. I'm talking about an XLi machine where the cams and arms were moved so far over to the left side of the machine that they also had to re-design the Hanger Bracket to accomodate removal.
The best pictures I have of the available space and Hanger Bracket are these.

If you've never had to remove one on a 90 then you have no idea the swearing that's involved in it's removal. I'm relatively new to the 90's so maybe there's a special tool that's used to keep the hanger from twisting on the spring puller so it will come off the pin?
Anyone?

Hi Bill, I feel your pain....removing those 90's spring hanger brackets can be a hassle! I've seen that Stahls/Tuffy Parts sells a product called the 'spring bracket conversion' (P/N 070 001 751 T) it's on their website; I've been wondering if that would simplify the process.

Not having to remove the bolt, and just putting the hanger bracket over a solid-mounted stud may be slightly easier? Provided there is enough clearance of course. Could be interesting.

Its not easier, its a total pain in the a$$. I am so glad I dont have these machines.
And another stupid design is the front pivot pin on the table. If it breaks off you cannot replace it, you need to buy the whole plate since the pin is welded on the plate. Absolutely stupid!!

Bill,
They make another Spring Hook just for the purpose of removing these springs. Part number is 792-505-036
